Card Selector · Last updated 2 August 2026

Card Selector is built so that the details of your finances stay on your device. We do not have accounts, we do not have a login, and we cannot see which cards you own.

The short version. Everything about your cards — which ones you hold, when you opened them, and which benefits you've used — is stored on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, in your own private iCloud account. It is never sent to us. The only thing the app ever transmits is a card request, and only if you choose to send one.

What stays on your device

If you have iCloud turned on, this data syncs through your own private iCloud database so it reaches your other devices. That sync is between you and Apple. We have no access to it, and we do not receive a copy.

What we receive

One thing, and only when you choose to send it: a request for a missing card. If you tap "Request a missing card" and submit the form, we receive exactly the two fields you typed:

Nothing accompanies them. We do not receive your name, email address, device identifier, advertising identifier, IP-based location, the cards you already track, or any account or payment details. Requests are stored without anything that identifies you, so they cannot be traced back to you or linked to your other activity in the app. Card names you submit may appear in the public catalog.

The camera

Card Selector can read the bank and card name printed on the front of a card so you can add it without searching. This happens entirely on your device using Apple's on-device text recognition.

Location

If you opt in, the app can use your location to suggest which of your cards earns the most where you are. This runs on your device. Your location is never uploaded to us and is not stored. You can turn it off at any time in iOS Settings.

The catalog

The app downloads a shared, public catalog of cards and their benefits from our server. These requests are read-only and anonymous — we do not attach an identifier, and we cannot tell which cards in the catalog are yours.

Purchases

Card Selector Premium is sold through Apple's App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details. Apple tells the app only whether an active subscription exists.

Analytics and advertising

There are none. Card Selector contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no third-party trackers, and no crash-reporting service that collects personal data. Diagnostic logs stay on your device unless you choose to attach them to a support email you send us.

Children

Card Selector is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

Because card requests carry nothing that identifies you, we have no way to find or delete a specific submission on request — there is no identifier to look it up by.

Accuracy of card information

The benefits catalog is maintained on a best-effort basis and may be incomplete or out of date. Always verify terms with your card issuer before relying on them.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date above.
